Data Visualization, Electrical Engineering & Air Quality

Today our scholars delved deeper into their community projects by learning how to do some basic data visualization on their community survey data using the python programming language.

Additionally, the kids started work on a Electrical Engineering sub-project by installing prototyping boards in their computers, and learning the basics of bread boards, jumper cables/wires, integrated circuits (IC), printed circuit boards (PCBs) resistors, and LEDs. In previous weeks the kids learned about some of the greenhouse gases contributing to climate change like carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), and nitrous oxide (N2O).  The goal of this small EE project is to build an air quality device that can detect some of these green house gases.
