The first week of our Summer Immersive was full of fun and learning. Our scholars learned about basic computing,
open source
& creative commons, and basic web design using HTML and CSS. The scholars were introduced to the SDGs, and delved deeper into the issue of gender inequity. At the end of the week the kids started to play a spirited team tournament to build websites integrating multimedia content about the SDGs. The first half of the tournament ended today, and it will conclude next week.
Open Source tools is a phrase used to mean a program -- or tool -- that performs a very specific task, in which the source code is openly published for use and/or modification from its original design, free of charge.
