We have over 30 years of experience in technology and education, and we are dedicated to creating educational and professional opportunities for marginalized children, and helping them to become STEM-fluent leaders with a global perspective!

 

Roger Nathanial Ashby – Executive Director

Mr. Ashby has over 19 years of experience in Information Technology working in academia, government, nonprofits and the private sector. Areas of expertise include solutions development and engineering, cloud computing solutions, data science & visualization, managed application and hosting services, project and program management, strategic partner management, and client relationship management. Mr. Ashby holds an Associates of Arts degree in computer science, and a Bachelor of Science in business from Johns Hopkins University. Additionally, Mr. Ashby holds a graduate certificate in International Development from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, and earned a Master of Public Administration degree from the Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs with a concentration in Sustainable Development Practice (MPA-DP).

Mr. Ashby is also the Principal Consultant at OpenWise.


Abigail Hazelwood – Education Director

Mrs.. Hazelwood has more than 18 years of experience as an education professional. During that time, she has exclusively worked with marginalized youths in urban schools and overseas in Latin America. Experience has included providing literacy support as well as facilitating the specific learning needs of a very diverse student population. Mrs. Hazelwood has developed curriculum modeling teaching strategies and best practices as well as lessons meeting new Common Core state standards. Mrs. Hazelwood has developed curriculum for exchange education in Ipala, Guatemala. Mrs. Hazelwood is a part of the Japanese/American Fulbright Teacher Exchange Program for Sustainable Development Education. She is Certified in Elementary Education (Grades 1-8), and Certified in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (Grades K-12). Mrs. Hazelwood holds a Bachelor of Science in Curriculum and Instruction and Master of Science in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from the University of Maryland, College Park and is a National Board Certified Teacher Candidate.

Mrs. Hazelwood is also the Senior Consultant in the Education Practice at OpenWise.

 

Dr. Danielah Gautier, MD, FACOG – Operations Director

Dr. Gautier has practiced obstetrics and gynecology for the past 8 years both in private practice and as a hospitalist. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from University of Miami with honors in biology and received her Doctorate of Medicine from New York Medical College. She did her residency training at Medical College of Georgia, which is now part of Augusta University, where she was the Administrative Chief Resident and served on the Education Committee. Dr. Gautier has experience working with under-served populations and takes particular interest in health education.
Dr. Gautier is also the Senior Consultant in the Health Practice at OpenWise.
