Black Panther & Spring 2018 Academic Year
We started our spring Academic Year sessions and celebrated black history month with a field trip to see the new Black Panther movie. This film is a showcase of possibilities with diverse characters, who are strong, heroic and Incredibly intelligent. Also, there are many strong female characters in the movie, and lots of examples of heroics through the use of scientific and technological knowledge. There were also great messages in the film about the nature of justice, and what our responsibilities are to one another as human beings. These messages resonate with lessons we’ve taught in the classroom on technology and social justice through the SDGs. Importantly: the film was also just really fun and the kids enjoyed themselves! 😆
