Spring 2018 Climate Action Project
We will mark the beginning of spring in a couple of weeks, and our Scholars learned about their new spring semester project today. This spring’s community project will focus on Sustainable Development Goal 13: Climate Action. The driving question for our spring project is: How do we use our understanding of technology to inform our community of the effects of climate change & pollution on their lives? The spring project will engage our Scholars with teamwork, research, field trips, community surveys, data collection & analysis, and deeper exploration of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. The final products for this project will include a choice of technology (Coding, Websites, Youtube, Instagram, Twitter or others) to communicate to the community and a presentation to discuss the research and development process. During the exploration and work on this project our Scholars may integrate information related to SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), SDG 15 (Life on Land), SDG 16 (Peace, Justice & Strong Institutions), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
